Do you hire people without a qualification?

In short yes, however if you have never worked as a disability support worker before the following documents are mandatory:

• NDIS Screening Check/ (Police check – while you wait for the NDIS Screening check)

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Support Worker is being able to take clients into the community to experience and get to know the great locations that Melbourne has to offer.  For this reason, it is important for all potential staff looking to have a successful career at Ability Care Direct to have reliable transport including valid driver’s licence and insurance.

How do we ensure our staff are professional and have the skills to work with clients?

All our carers undergo a detailed recruitment process including face to face interviews, reference checks, qualification check, NDIS screening/ police checks and working with children checks. In addition, all carers are required to have a first aid certificate, undertake training specific to the clients whom which they work with as well as participate in on-going training and education programs. For clients needing specialised care options we incentivise our staff through paid training for such certificates as medical administration, peg feeding, and others as required.
